According to a press release issued by the Ford Motor Company earlier this week, one of the automaker's engines was recently recognized for a prestigious award. The 2.3-liter EcoBoost four-cylinder engine, which was specially designed to provide motivation for the 2017 Ford Focus RS, was named to the 2017 Ward's 10 Best Engines list. Using 93-octane fuel, the engine creates 350 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque.
In the press release, Ford asserts that the engine's output, which is very impressive for its size, comes from the implementation of "an all-new, low-inertia twin-scroll turbocharger with a larger compressor wheel that delivers more airflow and power throughout the rev range." The ultra-sporty hatchback is capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 mph in 4.7 seconds.
