When it comes to the 2016 Ford F-150, consumers have a team of engines to choose from. Unless, of course, they're hoping to opt for a diesel engine. Fortunately though, according to the folks at AutoGuide.com, pickup shoppers can expect to see a diesel engine added to the F-150 engine lineup next year. What makes them so sure? As it just so happens, their team was able to catch the prototype on the road for testing. For more, read on below:

While Ford is currently keeping the details to themselves, rumor is that this new engine will be a turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel. Engineered by both Ford and Land Rover many years ago, this turbocharged engine would come rated at 254-horsepower and 440 pound-feet of torque and is expected to be mated to Ford's new 10-speed automatic transmission.
